Role : Couchbase database Administrator

Location : Maryland

Duration of contract: 12 months

Interview: Phone/ Skype

Experience and skill sets:

• Plan design, optimize, implement and support all aspects of Couchbase databases, and underlying operating system. Ensure security and compliance within enterprise standards.

• Configure, optimize and maintain Couchbase clusters, Sync-gateways and underlying operating systems.

• Complete accountability and responsibility to provide Level 3 (advanced) technical expertise for resolution of outages, service level issues, and user/customer support needs in coordination with other support teams.

• Ensure quality and consistency of design, development (if applicable), testing, and integration testing cycles and deliverables, adhering to Architecture, PMO, and compliance guidelines.

• Collaborates with other engineers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation

• Work with developers in writing SQL, functions & procedures, troubleshoot and tune coding issues.

• Drive continuous improvement of design and delivery standards. And ensures that all processes and procedures are fully documented, kept up to date and properly socialized

• Possibility of an On-call rotation is required to support a 24/7 environment and is also expected to be able to work outside business hours to support a global delivery.

Experience and skill sets:

o Hadoop Administration Engineer MapR experience a ++

o Responsible for implementation and support of the Enterprise Hadoop environment.

o Involves designing, capacity planning, cluster set up, monitoring, structure planning, scaling and administration of Hadoop components ((YARN, MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Zookeeper, Storm, Kafka, Spark, Pig and Hive)

o Work closely with infrastructure, network, database, business intelligence and application teams to ensure business applications are highly available and performing within agreed on service levels.

o Accountable for performance tuning and resource management of Hadoop clusters and MapReduce routines.

o Strong Experience with LINUX based systems & scripting (either of Shell, Perl or Python).

o Experience with configuration management tools like puppet, chef or salt.

o Strong Experience with Configuring Security in Hadoop using Kerberos or PAM.

o Good knowledge of directory services like LDAP & ADS and Monitoring tools like Nagios or Icinga2.

o Strong troubleshooting skills of Hive, Pig, Hbase and JAVA Mapreduce codes/jobs.

o Evaluate technical aspects of any change requests pertaining to the Cluster.

o Research, identify and recommend technical and operational improvements resulting in improved reliability efficiencies in developing the Cluster.
