$50-55/hr all inc.

Job description:
In this position we are seeking a person with strong desire and ability to test and automate complex video delivery systems. The learning curve will be steep as we will ask you to immerse yourself in our end-to-end solution for video stream transport and processing. You will be learning about distributed systems, network management, feature rich devices, video, audio & data services, MPEG, DVB, TCP/IP, broadcast and mobile streaming, and related standards and specifications.
We are seeking a person to test systems using existing manual test plans, and to write new test procedures for the distributed network management systems and all the devices it controls. In the process of testing, test tools will be developed or enhanced to improve validation speed and accuracy, and test scripts will be written within an existing framework to cover end-to-end tests execution. These require reading test plans, standards, and engineering design documents, deriving the test plans from them, and writing the applicable test tools and automation scripts. Execution of tests includes manual setup of test environment, manual and automated execution of tests scripts, and writing new test scripts.
 
Required Job Skills:
•                 Develops and executes software test plans.
•                 Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.
•                 Write test scripts and test tools.
•                 Automated existing and new test cases.
•                 Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action.
•                 Implement your ideas for evaluation methods in the design, development and debugging of software programs.
•                 Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.

Years of Direct Experience Required:
•                 5 years of formal software testing, manual and automated.
•                 3 years of automation scripting and programming, experience with GUI automation tools.

Areas of Direct Experience:
•                 In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with MPEG, DVB, TCP/IP.
•                 Self-driven with strong work ethics. Able to embrace challenging assignments and develop new approaches with minimal supervision.
•                 Excellent written and communication skills. English language is required.
•                 Experience with embedded s/w testing preferred.
•                 Experience with standard performance and compliance tools preferred.
•                 Fast learner of complex technologies.
•                 Proactive in identifying product & customer issues, and helping to resolve them.
•                 Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.

Educational Requirements:
•                 BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
•                 Python, C & C++ programming, VB desirable.
