Location:  Chicago, IL 60654
Duration: 3+ months contract

 

Remarks:  Client can decide over the phone/skype but the candidate is expected to relocate to Chicago at his/her cost if hired.

 

Our cutting edge client in Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their energetic and dedicated team to develop an automated content processing pipeline using cloud technology.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have 7+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 5 years of Java development.
• Experience and specialization in Hadoop is very beneficial but can be learned on the job.
• Skills used on the project include Java, Linux, Hadoop,Hbase,Hive,Oozie, Oracle SQL.
• Mastery with Java data structures & core libraries Experience with one or more RDB’s & SQL is required, familiarity with non-RDB databases a plus Familiarity with Linux (or any Unix equivalent) development experience Working Knowledge of Hadoop/HDFS Knowledge of Hadoop Tools (i.e Hbase,Hive,Oozie,Pig) is a significant plus.
• Good understanding of MapReduce.
• Experience with Junit or other unit testing library Some exeprience with Python scripting is a plus Proficient in one Configuration Management tool (e.g., Subversion, CVS, Mercurial) Familiarity with Agile development, continuous integration, test driven development Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of GIS a bonus (can be learned on the job) Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics
• Self-driven and self-motivated personality, strong technical and analysis skills, attention to detail, adaptability, excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and a commitment to creating world class software products.
