A new report from Morningstar has cast doubt on some of the 'socially responsible' tags awarded to popular products. Morningstar surveyed 193 funds which were being marketed as socially responsible to UK consumers, and awarded them points out of five for their "sustainability score", against other types of funds. Alas, 89 of them were rated only "average" or worse – of which five funds got a "low" rating and 30 were declared "below average" against funds as a whole.
