20 Uses For Epsom Salt. Why It Should be in Every Home & Garden
For centuries, Epsom salts have been used for everything from gardening to detoxifying the body. Despite it's name, Epsom salt isn't actually a salt – is a naturally occurring compound of magnesium and sulfate. Epsom salt actually gets its name from the saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England.
When you look at the components of Epsom salts; magnesium and sulfates – it's easy to see why this simple solution is so effective. Magnesium helps regulate more than 300 enzymes in the body is crucial to maintaining health. A lack of magnesium can lead to high blood pressure, hyperactivity, heart problems and other health issues. Sulfates are critical to many biological processes, mainly to help flush toxins, and helping the creation of certain proteins.
