QA Automation Engineer

We're looking for a talented, experienced software QA engineer with solid functional skills and a passion for testing software for Client Server applications. He/She is responsible for writing test cases, testing and support of new and existing products for the company involving FX (Foreign Exchange), Derivatives and Fixed Income Instruments. He/She is responsible for identifying, documenting software defects and as well as working with development and product management to create and execute comprehensive test plans. He/She will work closely with QA Manager on identification of critical flows in our application for automation candidates.
Responsibilities Include:
•Analyze Product and Customer requirements and design effective test cases to meet those.
•Work closely with team members and with other teams to ensure quick resolution of Customer reported issues.
•Write, review and implement test plans and test cases (both manual and automated).
•Take ownership of certain product module QA effort and perform the required testing for all software modification
•Work with Operations team to resolve production issues as needed.
•Document all Test artifacts including Test Cases, Test Plans in the Test Case Management System
•5+ years prior experience in Software QA, •Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience acceptable. •Very strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analysis skills. •Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle: Specification/Design/Implementation/Testing/Release. •Experience with and understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL). •Familiarity with Unix or Linux and Windows operating systems Must be comfortable using standard UNIX utilities to do testing and identify issues. •Strong working knowledge of software build and release management processes such as maintaining QA environment would be a plus. •Self-motivated, quick learner and creative problem solver, organized, and responsible team player •Experience with sonic MQ, JMS Test Client would be a plus •Experience with Web Services testing and FIX integration testing would be a plus •Experience with automation tools (QTP preferable) and/or experience with Java or Perl programming would be a Plus.
