Our client, is currently looking for a Sr. Level I.T. Business Analyst to help identify business needs and determine solutions for our 2014 initiatives. Expectations are that these projects will move rapidly and that the Business Analyst selected for the opportunity will need to ramp up quickly and be extremely proficient at facilitating cross functional groups.
 
The Sr. Business Analyst works with project team members to elicit, analyze, represent and validate requirements for changes to information systems and business processes.  The requirements will be defined and documented to an appropriate level for use by technical designers and systems testers.  This position is engaged throughout the project lifecycle.  You are also expected to understand the business and be a resource for answering questions or performing analysis outside of specific project assignments. 
 
The scope of this position is broad and serves as a key link between Information Systems and multiple business units.  You will need to be able to question business and technical people in an encouraging manner so as to affect and foster a positive working relationship.  The Business Analyst needs to have knowledge of the business as well as a process, application, and technology capabilities.  You will also be responsible for additional responsibilities to include:
•     Define and document requirements as necessary according to the needs of the project;
•     Work in partnership with the Project Manager to manage project scope;
•     Lead requirements sessions and challenge requirements that do not align with identified project goals;
•     Participate in the prioritization and negotiation of requirements to ensure the successful implementation of the solution to the identified schedule;
•     Work with the Project Manager to develop a detailed schedule that may include prototyping and other RAD SDLC approaches;
•     Use functional knowledge of the industry to support delivery of solutions that meet business needs;
•     Document and redesign business processes;
•     Collaborate to continuously improve requirements processes;
•     Assist with vendor relationship management; review vendor terms, conditions, and pricing as needed;
•     May be required to write test cases and participate in the testing process according to the needs of the project.
 
Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
•     At least five years experience gathering requirements and defining business solutions with cross functional teams.
•     Knowledge of industry standard Business Analysis Practices.
•     Proven ability to effectively collaborate with Project Managers on large projects from inception through to implementation
•     Experience with executive communications and interactions
•     Excellent listening, verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
•     Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups/teams to include planning, presentations and moderation.
•     Effectively able to solicit information from appropriate sources.
•     Demonstrated ability to analyze information, solve problems and adapt to different work environments.
•     Demonstrated effective planning and organizational skills through previous work assignments.
•     Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•     Ability to estimate project tasks related to requirements gathering.
•     Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio a plus
  • Retail digital marketing experience a plus
  • Experience with Financial reporting a plus
