Lead Big Data Dev

 

We are looking for a Big Data Development Lead with proven hands-on experience leading the architecture, design, and development of large-scale highly available big data platforms and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience and detailed knowledge of building and integrating transactional and analytical platforms for high volume and velocity. The role requires a good understanding of infrastructure and how clients are adopting new platforms and architectures such as MarkLogic and/or other systems. The individual will execute and support design, build and deployment of the big data architecture necessary to support a cloud based commercial solution. 
Responsibilities 
Large scale application experience required, strong analytical skills, must be up to date on latest technology trends 
Experience with hiring and managing high performance teams 

Successful track record in solution development and delivery
Analytical skills and proven ability to work with delivery teams to think out of box
Drive and willingness to cooperate with colleagues and influence team members through leadership and good communication
A team player willing to develop and disseminate Intellectual Capital
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills along with a willingness to mentor others in the cross-functional organizations
Good project and time management skills
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem solving skills,
Hands on programming and development experience; excellent problem solving skills; proven technical leadership
Strong understanding of how the various technical pieces fit together: you can explain why you made architectural/design decisions and chose certain tools/products.
Expertise/working knowledge in NoSql technology, Relational DB's and various big-data stacks.
Strong Software development background across multiple technologies and vendor systems

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of software and database engineering, including high volume, scalable transactional and analytical systems
3+ years leading high performance teams

Assets:
Theory and practice SQL, NoSQL/NewSQL, Analytics/BI systems
Building, maintaining and scaling OLTP/OLAP/Data Warehouse/ETL
Experience in one or more of MarkLogic, Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, MapR, Splunk
Experience with MarkLogic technology suite in one or more of web services, data modelling, content processing, data replication, etc...
Strong experience with enterprise application architecture and enterprise integration patterns
