))))Vu & Company(((( [6 new comments] Rhythm for "new" learners

I have recently taken on a student (9 years), who is struggling with rhythm. Before she started lessons she was taught by her mum and dad (self taught I believe), so she has a really haphazard knowledge base. She can read the notes pretty well and can play things hands together pretty well straight away. But I am really struggling to teach her about pulse and rhythms - particularly dotted rhythms. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for teaching rhythm, or places I could get ideas from? (I'm in the UK) Thanks!
